About Ammon Nelson

Hi! I’m Ammon Nelson and I live in Utah with my wife and 8 children.  I was born and raised in Salt Lake County, Utah, and have three Alma Maters: Granger High School, Salt Lake Community College and I received my BS degree (pun intended) from University of Idaho in Natural Resources.

I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Brazil Recife South Mission (the name of the mission, the mission office,, and the boundaries changed after I left to the Brazil Maceio Mission), serving in several small cities in the Brazilian states of Pernambuco, Alagoas, and Sergipe.

I work as a lead for the software support team for Nucor Buildings Group Group Services to support my family.

I do my best to maintain three blogs including this one, though this is my most active:

Spiffy Thoughts, is my blog for random rantings and my unique observations of life, philosophy, economics, and politics.

I am working my way through giving a review of the Federalist Papers at The Federalist Papers – Analyzed though I regret not spending as much time on that project.

I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons).  If you are curious about how this affects my life, take a look at my profile at Mormon.org here:
I'm a Mormon.
